The TR162 Master and Sub SNA and Pressure Receivers are used with the TR46SP SNA and pressure Telemeters.
Features include
- bandpass filters (DC to 4 kHz)
- analog output of rectified and integrated nerve signal (20-1000 ms time constants)
- calibrated pressure
The receiver can switch between up to 12 different Telemeters either manually or by using the ADInstruments TR Scheduler Pod and LabChart software. External interface allows software control in turning the Telemeter on/off.
Sympathetic nerve activity receiver operation
Bandpass filters
The user can choose the filter parameters for the analog output to best suit the signal type by adjusting the high pass and low pass switches.
Integrator output
Because the original SNA signal is composed of positive and negative voltage deflections around the zero voltage level, averaging of this signal via a data acquisition system gives an average SNA level of zero. To quantify changes in the SNA level over time, the general approach is to full wave rectify and integrate the signal. The analog output from the front of the Receiver outputs the filtered SNA signal. A rectified and integrated output is available via the external interface connector on the rear of the unit using the supplied cable.
Integrator gain
This provides an adjustable gain of 1, 5 or 10 on the integrator output.
Integrator time constant
The integrator time constant can be varied between 20 and 1000ms. This converts the bursts of SNA to distinct peaks or waves which can be used for analysis.
Audio
A set of speakers (not supplied) can be plugged into the 3.5mm Audio Output Socket on the receiver. A computer compatible speaker set or headphones are suitable. This enables the filtered SNA signal to be heard directly.
