Tissue Oxygen Measurement - in freely moving small animals
.jpg)
This fully implantable Telemeter has been developed specifically to measure tissue oxygen concentrations in small animals. The device uses the latest in wireless telemetry and induction power transfer technology to provide the user with accurate, reliable and continuous measurement of oxygen concentration in tissues such as brain and kidney.
Applications:
The TR57Y Tissue Oxygen Telemeter is suitable for use in animals greater than 200 gms and ideal for applications and studies including:
- Memory and learning
- Metabolism
- Diurnal rhythms
- Behavioral – using mazes
- Respiratory/gas exchange
- Pharmaceutical testing
- Social interaction
- Localized ischemia………and more
Operation:
The Telemeter uses an electrochemical reaction and has specifically been configured to measure oxygen molecules using a carbon paste electrode (CPE). The CPE is a stable electrode which is ideal for long term implantation and measurement as it does not get fouled over time as other electrodes. Another feature is that the electrode is only 200um in diameter so can be implanted in a variety of tissues easily. The Telemeter has three lead wires and comes with electrodes attached, the CPE working electrode, platinum/silver Auxiliary and Reference Electrodes.
Reuse:
A feature of all Telemetry Research Telemeters is that with care in cleaning and handling they can be reused. As well as the Telemeter battery being able to be recharged the electrodes can also be changed between uses...there is no requirement for sending the unit back to us for refurbishment.
Compatibility:
The Tissue Oxygen Telemeter is completely compatible with the TR180 SmartPad, recharger and signal receiver as well as the TR190 Configurator (ConfigSoft version 1.1.3 or later).
